Dental hygiene

Dental hygiene is a routine procedure that can be performed by trained professionals without any problems. To give our patients an insight into this treatment method, we have listed the most frequently asked questions below.

Is tartar dangerous?

Once a tooth is occupied by tartar, this is an ideal growth area for unwanted bacteria. For tartar has a rough surface on which the bacteria can multiply undisturbed. Bacteria can always cause inflammation - be it inflammation of the tooth itself or the gums. Dental hygiene is therefore a more than sensible measure.

Can tartar be avoided?

Tartar can not be completely avoided. With sufficient hygiene, however, it can be preventively prevented. Sufficient oral hygiene is, for example, proper brushing or working with dental floss. Basically, you should avoid causing plaque. In addition, we suggest that you perform a dental cleaning by the dentist once or twice a year.

How does tartar interfere?

Tartar most often appears in a white-yellowish layer on the tooth. Older tartar, however, looks more yellow and brown. The color is so different because the tartar is colored by the color of the food. Especially aggressive dyes such as those found in tea, red wine or coffee stain the tartar intensively.
Alternatively, you can also test with your tongue. Run your tongue over the spot where you suspect that tartar has accumulated. If this spot feels hard and rough, that is usually an indication of tartar. Contact the dentist Hungary for a low-priced and high-quality distance!
